Residents had to convince the Board of Directors of SANDAG to drop an eminent domain lawsuit and allow the mixed-use project proposed by Protea Properties to take the place of a planned parking lot.
Protea Properties is working with the community on their proposal for the Mixed-Use project located adjacent to the new Clairemont Dr Trolley Station. We will soon be posting surveys that the community can complete regarding what kind of businesses and/or retail shops they would like to see lease space in the development.
Currently, the lot is leased to by SANDAG as a construction yard until the Clairemont Trolley is completed-an estimated term of 3 years.
The street level will facilitate parking for both the trolley ridership and the residents, tenants, and customers of the development.
The bellow Trader Joe's Poll was taken prior to Protea Properties purchase of the Vacant Lot. It established what residents wanted at Clairemont Dr. and Morena Blvd across from the coming Clairemont Trolley.
